Not just high school, but all school in general start at the same time.  At least here.

Tomorrow's my first day.  Although, I'm a little confused because when we got our schedules at registration they screwed up and put our old homeroom locations on them, which are obviously incorrect because they're in the freshman building and I'm not a freshman any more.  So nobody knows where they're supposed to go tomorrow, because on the first day we always start there.

Well I'm going to be going in about 10 minutes. I just weighed my backpack and it weighs 44.6 lbs. It's pretty much just an orientation though.

WHOA, 44.6 LBS?!?!??!

I thought _I_ had a massive backpack... but mine never weighed in anywhere over 15.  I still hate textbooks, as I have to carry a bunch home every night for homework because the teachers feel like they have to assign stuff out of the book instead of using an external worksheet or something.

Don't bust your back...

It's better for the environment! Think about all the trees that don't have to be cut down Smiley

Yeah, sure, but it's NOT better for us kids.
I've had way too many people worried about me injuring myself hauling my backpack around.

School started here back on Aug 11. I really wish it would go back to how it was when I was a kid.

Sure you need everything you're carying in there? Because if you don't have homework of a certain subject you can leave those books in school Wink

I already ditch everything I don't need at the end of the day.

...unfortunately, that doesn't help much!

Just came back and a 44.6 pound backpack on your back sure sounds better than carrying a 44.6 pound backpack up four stories. At least I didn't get assigned anything on the first day

For freshman orientation, I don't feel very orientated...  :embarassed: Cry

I wasn't too confused when I went in. Now, I am all like 'Where the hell do I go?'...  no

Freshman year sucks the first month or two.  After that, you get used to things pretty quickly though.
