I got my High School schedule a couple of days ago:

Theology I
History I
German I
Advanced Honors Algebra I  Cheesy
English Honors I
Freshman Advanced Biology I  Tongue
Concert Band I

Because of band, I get out at 11th hour, while the rest of the school gets out after 10th.  Cry Fun stuff, eh?  Grin
(quoted thanks to my post being on the next page)

That's interesting, having an extra hour.  At my school we all get out at the same time.
I've had the classes on my sophomore schedule finalized for a while, I just don't know what order they'll be in yet:

(X classes = Advanced/Honors/whatever you want to call it)
Algebra 2X
English 10X
Chemistry X
Geography X
German 2
Advanced Concert Band (highest level, woot) / Marching Band (first semester is Marching Band since I'm in it, but it switches back to the normal concert band when the marching season is out)
Jazz Band 1 (in this situation, Jazz 2 is the lower-level band instead of the other way around)

We also for 10th grade have a required PE/Health block, but I had a schedule conflict (I needed to be in Jazz Band 1) so I had to take PE in the summer and Health (aka retarded sex-ed crap I know already) will have to be made up in a later year, which will be kind of odd.

Oh yeah, because I am taking freshmen biology, which most don't, I am also taking a full year of rotating health. Some days I get 1 hour 10 biology, 25 min health, some I get 45 and 55. So yeah. What does 10X mean?

And how long is a school day at your school? Mine is 8:30 - 3:10, but if i got out at 10th hour, it would be 2:15 or 2:25.

Damn my stupidity! I'm in all normal classes. Well it is a really prodigious high school after all.

I know a little too! I knew that 'ich kann' is I can, and 'ein' is a or an. I didn't know bishen, but a quick search reveals "little".
So! We have "I can a little German" in a literal sense, or in an understood tranliteral way - "I can speak a little German" or "I understand a little German". You forgot the verb 'to understand' - verstehe, so I would have been more understood to an outsider. I have almost no German speaking background at all, I just used the internet for stuff I don't know.  Wink

What does 10X mean?
Grade 10, honors/advanced.

7:30-2:30.  You actually have a shorter day than me, somehow.

Also, you're right.  Ich kann ein bischen Deutsch is indeed "I can a little German" and is supposed to be interpreted as "I can speak/understand a little German".  "Verstehe" isn't necessarily needed to get the point across.

Ich KANN Deutsch!  Ich vergesse nicht.

How many subjects do you normally have in America? I think I did 11 for GCSEs (15/16 years old) except PE doesn't really count because it didn't have an exam unless we did a full course, which I didn't.

Science Double
Maths
English
English Literature
German
History
Design Technology
Graphics
Business Studies
Religious Education
P.E. short course (means it was one lesson a week with no exams, instead of a full course which was two and had an exam)

8:50am to 3:25pm.

Then at A.S. Level (17 years old) we do four subjects, and usually drop one for the next year, A level, when it gets more intense.

English in our school is a combo of Literature Studies and Grammar. So yeah...

Ksoft, your school sounds like an upper intelligence school. Keep up the good work! Feechy and I have been told that our school is for 'intelligent people', but I see kids that got in there that were really stupid.

Oh yeah, I also ordered my books. Total cost: $657 with tax and shipping! For my freshman year of High School! Insane right?!  Shocked

You have to buy your own books for high school? Since when? I can't be that old, can I?

In other news, there have been a few thoughts about moving to Portland lately. We'll see. I always said that if I made a big movie like that, I would sell off a large chunk of my collection. It's just too much stuff to move.

Is it me, or does Goodwill seem to be robbing itself when it comes to retro games?
