The extra hour for training was to show us how to use the cashless system. We stood around for 58 minutes then the patch manager came around and showed us how to use the swipe cards in under a minute. The system had been tested nearly all day every day for the last week. We did some playing around with it for a while with no problems, then the first customers came.
Oh bugger, what a surprise. The cards weren't working and we couldn't take any cash. They got them working after ten minutes. But then we had the arseholes deliberately trying to make it more awkward than it is. One guy started reeling off a long list of things, then I asked him to put his swipe card on the scanner before I could put it through. "No! You'll take my order first! I don't want it taking money as I order my drinks." After some arguing about the way it had to be done, he had a moan at me about how it took too long.
What a craptacular job. I think there are only 7 more games this season anyway.
