My aunt gave me a CD player / radio yesterday along with a bunch of other stuff as she cleans out her basement. Anyway, I turned it on and it powered up but no sound. So I plugged some headphones in and got sound from there, and I did the same thing with 2 of the line out holes, they had sound too. So I figured the speaker connections came loose and it would be a quick solder to fix it. So I take it apart only to find out there are no speakers inside. I couldn't believe it because the case is designed to look like there are speakers inside. So I just soldered in some speakers from something else, put them inside the case, now I've got a perfectly good CD player and radio.

As of today, I'm officially a college student. Again. I enrolled in the culinary program at the Art Institute of Minnesota.

I figured that being 26, unemployed and completely uninterested in doing something with my previous degree (economics. yuck.) was a good place to start something new. It's a short (albeit expensive) program, but it seems like it's "what I want to do when I grow up."

Are tickets expensive? Dragonforce was like $35 last time they were here, and they played a small venue.

I just bought eight low energy bulbs in Tesco for 8p. Cool They were marked as £1.68 but we took them to customer services who said if there was a special offer it would say on the shelves. She was about to walk away when I asked her to scan it. £0.01 came up!
