You and me both man. I've been hitting the pavement for like 3-4 weeks now and nothing yet. I'm getting close with a possible GameStop position, but nothing else.

I'm applying for an apprenticeship as a Motor Trade Engineer, aka mechanic. The trouble is it won't start until September. So I need to get on and find something else until then.

[Edit:] How bizarre. It's 18*C today. February is supposed to be under 10*C. It's a very pleasant day, so I'm not complaining but it does seem a bit weird.

Good thing, as I really need to relax this weekend.

I'm in the same boat.  I'm hoping my neo geo arrives this afternoon and I can have the weekend to play it.

Oh wow. I only just remembered I have a second job. The one I went for an interview for in November. They had to send a criminal record check off but it was returned for some reason. They sent it off again and I can finally work for them. I don't really want to work there though. I'll see how it goes but it's only 3 hours a week at about £5.50/hour or whatever adult minimum wage is. Barely worth the bus fare, then I'll be expected to buy my own lunch.

I'm starting on Monday.

Today is the day that I try my first controller mod.

NES pad ---> 7800 pad.

I already have most of the prep work done. Just gotta go get a few things from the hardware store.

UPDATE: First test run found directional pad working perfectly, but not A and B buttons. Gonna crack it back open and see if i can remedy.

Finally got it working. I was missing a couple of resistors, but after that was taken care of it works like a charm. I might make a second one tomorrow.

Soon I'll be all set for sweet 2-player Atari 7800 action!

My sister's away for the weekend, so I'm staying at her house to watch her animals. When I left, I realized I couldn't find her house key. So I had to go to her in-laws (who also weren't home) and had to go through a gauntlet of spare keys and locked doors and finally got the right key.
Now I've got access to hundred of DVDs and a big screen Grin Now I need to figure out what to watch.

That stupid dog. I took them for a walk and the older one rolled in fox poopy. I dragged her away from it then kept walking. On the way back there's a big muddy puddle which I normally make her avoid. Today I thought "I must make sure she doesn't go in it." I stood there and watched her go past it then I carried on walking. Of course, when I turned around again she was up to her belly in mud lapping it up.

Stupid dog or stupid me for not watching her properly?
