So this was actually about a month ago, but for soem reason I forgot to mention it here.  I got engaged over Christmas.  We are planning a April of '09 wedding, so hopefully we will have saved enough money to have a decent reception.  I think I'm officially an old man now.

congratulations! and yes, you are now old.

But moving now, better than yesterday as I stayed comatose.

Mostly Cloudy, -6° F (-39° F)

That -39 is the wind chill. It's fucking cold out. I shudder thinking about how bad it will get tonight.

It's turned cold here this morning.  It was 54 at midnight, now it's 21 and windy as all hell.  Gusts are up to 70 mph and they say snow is on it's way.

Good luck in the championship game!

Yep that weather was weird. 50 to start the day and it was 11 by the afternoon with near whiteout conditions for a little while.

Two days ago it was something like 19° but that's the coldest it's been around here.

My dad probably has to have a pacemaker. He was due for an operation on his shoulder this week but first he had to come off Warfarin which is a blood thinner. To do that they had to monitor his heart for a while. It turns out during the night his heart drops to around 30bpm. So he can't come off the Warfarin and can't have the shoulder operation.

That's right.

Seriously though, is 30 bpm really that bad? Professional cyclists go that low too when resting.

It's bad for 60 year old men who aren't fit and have had a few heart attacks already. Professional cyclists have low heart rates because they're fit enough to have low metabolism. I've seen my dad on a heart monitor and it's all over the place. One second it could be 60, a few seconds later it's 110 then it's down to 50.

I hate making a mile-long oddessey to my classes everyday. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
