I agree. Who cares about how cold it is? Instead let's talk about my lack of internet for five hours. Much more interesting. Yes, I cried. But I learnt some new stuff. Like how to use my spare router as a network switch... kind of pointless without the internet. Now I have my 360 and PC connected to the main router with one cable. I don't need to worry about the wireless crapping out now. I also learnt to remember how frustrating Gears of War is by dying umpteen times on the same section. After much resetting of modems and routers, and checking cables I noticed an outside IP address in the router's settings. I decided to restore the router to factory settings and... Huzzah! I have internet again! The moment was only spoilt by my dad's call up the stairs of "I fixed the internet. I put the network... wireless... thing... in." If only he knew.

God dammit. I went out for 30 minutes to walk the dogs, telling my dad to listen out for the door. Of course, the deaf old codger didn't and there was a card through the letter box saying someone tried to deliver my parcel. Now I have to wait until tomorrow because dad was too busy looking at porn.

Edit: Never mind, I went to the depot on the way back from something in town. I now have a fully working 500GB hard drive! \o/

I am being featured in next months departmental newsletter in the "Getting to know..." section where they pick a member of the management team and do a writeup on their life outside work.  I am trying to get them to put in a plug about me being a video game collector and mention that donations are welcome.  If it gets put in I hope there is a windfall!!  Hey it goes out to 350 to 400 people so you never know...
