Because of your tree?

Yes... that and my lack of yard maintenance.

Excellent, I've hated mowing the lawn since I was 12 and intend, when I get a lawn of my own, to turn it into a prairie.

In other news; it's freaking freezing in my room. The furnace doesn't really manage to send air up to the third story so well.

... I hate waiting for Friday. On a side note, my son is dressing up as a Clone Trooper this Friday for Halloween.

I have to go meet up with my Spanish professor (the insane one) at a coffee shop.

I'm just glad it's in a public place.

James' Waffle Of The Day...

I found out I can use any Windows XP Home installation disc to install on any PC as long as I have a valid XP Home licence key for the PC it's being installed on. I have a Linux PC in the lounge for streaming media and recording TV but it was hardly ever used because Linux is such a pain in the arse. I had put the components inside a wooden box and thrown out the old case. Luckily I kept the panel with the Windows licence key sticker on. Cheesy So I installed Windows XP on the old computer and it's pretty much doing everything I want now.

Specs:
P4 2.53GHz
512MB PC2100
GeForce MX440 (It's an old PC!)
80GB 5,400rpm 2.5" HDD

After updating Windows and installing drivers and the usual stuff, I installed Media Portal on it. Media Portal can handle all media like Music, Video, Pictures, TV amongst doing other things. I spent a while setting it up to do things how I want and now it's fine after only one day. With Ubuntu on it before it would have taken a few months to get where I am now, then it would have automatically installed an update that fooked itself over.

If I put it into standby or hibernate, it will wake up to record a scheduled TV programme from the electronic programme guide, then once it's done recording it will go to sleep again. I've enabled Wake On LAN and installed VNC so I can control it from elsewhere while dad is watching football. Cheesy

I'm quite pleased with it now. Smiley

I recommend taking atleast a Flak jacket, you never know what you'll run into in such a coffee shop. Wink

Nice blade, good price considering the high quality of the steel used, but then again all SOG knives kick ass. Smiley

A question for all you knife enthusiasts out there:

What are butterfly knives worth in terms of strenght? Aren't they prone to breaking off because of the joint? A knife with a fixed blade just seems much stronger to me.

A friend from Highschool used to have one of those things, mainly to do "cool" tricks with like so:

I'm not a knife/weapons supporter at all but if I had to choose between a knife like Leon's or a butterfly one I'd know what to pick.

Butterfly knifes can break if they aren't taken care of properly, but usually you can't break one unless you wanted to.
