I love cartoons. I still watch them. I was watching Transformers Armada last night and am looking forward to the debut of Transformers Animated the day after Christmas.

In my nearly 40 years of cartoon watching I've had several favorites. I'll start in the 70's since some prime cartoon viewing years (age 5-11) took place for me in that decade. A lot of these cartoons were from the 60's but were re-run constantly in the 70's. Some like Scooby-Doo still are.

70's

Scooby-Doo: come on... who hasn't watched and loved this show?

The Funky Phantom: I honestly don't remember much about this show but it was one of my first favorites.

Speed Buggy: I had a Speed Buggy lunch box back in grade school.

Speed Racer: Fast cars, lots of crashes. Every young boys dream.

Kimba The White Lion

Wacky Racers

80's

Battle of the Planets: Gatchaman for you anime afficionados

Transformers

G.I. Joe

Thundercats: I watched this one every morning in the student center before going to class my first couple years of college.

90's

Loony Tunes: Yeah I watched these growing up but I got obsessed with Warner Bros. cartoons in the 90's. I still have the piles of VHS tapes to prove it.

Tiny Tune Adventures: My wife and I used to watch this one together.

Batman The Animated Series: I thought the animation style of this one was amazing. Very stylized. How many super hero cartoons have aped it look since?

Gargoyles

I'm sure there's a ton of others but these all stand out.

Scooby-Doo <~My kids are fanatics too about this cartoon

My daughter loves Scooby as well. We watch the classics as well as the new stuff. Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island is her favorite. There's a new Scooby show called "What's New Scooby-Doo?", this thing features music by real bands. I was watching it the other day with her and there was a chase scene backed by "Rockaway Beach" by the Ramones. Scooby AND the Ramomes.... how can you beat that?

My daughter loves zombie island as well.  She also likes Witch's Ghost and The Loch Ness Monster.  The new doo's have some good music in them.

Reminiscing has made me realize that cable has destroyed a lot of the charm of cartoons. As a kid, Saturday Morning Cartoons and weekday cartoons were where it's at. Now, cartoons are on whenever, where ever. Saturday Morning Cartoons? What is that? It's sort of sad. That said, I like current cartoons, and yeah, these are the cartoons that stand out in my mind. Good cartoons, of course, I've seen a lot of cartoons, especially the 90s cartoons... I think I've seen at least once every cartoon in that real.

Italics means that I really enjoyed the show

1980s

Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
Ducktales <-Awesome NES game
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles <-Uh, every kid my age watched that show... because it kicked ass.
The Real Ghostbusters
Inspector Gadget, watched in the 90s on Nick
Danger Mouse, watched in the 90s on Nick
Beetlejuice, watched in the 90s on Nick

1990s

Tiny Toon Adventures <-Best Cartoon IMO of the 90s
Animaniacs
Pinky and the Brain
Tale Spin
Goof Troop
Darkwing Duck
Batman
Sonic the Hedgehog
The Nickelodeon Nicktoons, especially Rocko's Modern Life... Ren and Stimpy watching it now is really dumb

00 God, my existence transcends three decades...

Powerpuff Girls... shut up
Dexter's Laboratory
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Courage, the Cowardly Dog
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

Older Aimed Cartoons

Futurama
The Simpsons, before it sucked
Family Guy
American Dad
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Sealab 2021
Venture Bros.

Cartoons that transcend time and space
Looney Toons, any
HB Cartoons, any... god bless Hanna Barbera Land
Scooby Doo... but that falls under HB Cartoons
Tom and Jerry

Anything Disney, we had this "Disney Festival" thing everyday, showing one cartoon and a small one. I think it still exists in some form.
What I remember watching of the Disney festival:

Darkwing Duck
Duck Tales
Goof Troop
The Little Mermaid
Rescue Rangers
101 Dalmatians
Aladdin
Hercules
TaleSpin

Non-Disney:

Looney Tunes
TMNT
Scooby Doo
Pingu
The Simpsons (still see it weekly Smiley)
Futurama
Adventures of Tintin
X-men
Transformers
Beast Wars
Doug
The Incredible Hulk
Marsipulami
Noah's Island
The Pink Panther
South Park
Spider-Man
Taz-Mania

Anime, but still cartoons in my opinion:

Dragon Ball Z
Digimon (watched it briefly, Pokémon was better)
Pokémon
Yu-Gi-Oh
Beyblade
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
Sailor Moon
The New Adventures of He-Man
Jackie Chan Adventures

Lol, what a big list...seems like I had too much time on my hands as a kid Tongue

There's still one cartoon I loved but I don't know the name. It's this little boy who lives in Japan with his mom, and he's kind of perverted. And he always gets into situations and stuff with his mom being mad....anyone knows the title of this?
