Check it out. It was done by the same firm that won the bid for the Ground Zero redevelopment.

It looks kinda cool, but of course you never know untill it's actually built.

That thing would look better in almost any city besides Covington (or Cincinnati for that matter). This city just doesn't take buildings like that well. And, are you surprised that they're building it in Covington rather than Cincy? I'm not.

It looks more like a piece of modern art than a building but it doesnt look bad.
It's cool that it has the little garden things on top. But that maskes it look like a strange mountain like object i the pictures.

I think the chances of this being built are fairly promising. It is, after all, across the river, and they seem to get things done. The reason the last proposal for that site failed is that they were in a legal dispute over who owned the land. However, the suite just came to a close, so this has a good chance of going up. Plus, the market is about right for another tower, most of the newly redeveloped condos in downtown have already been sold.

gambling boats: indiana
light rail: technically Cincinnati has already started... That will be a regional project. But the first rail line in the current plan would go from downtown to the airport - so I guss that means NKY gets it first.
Part of the problem is size. Newport's and Covington's governments are a lot smaller, and there is a lot less overhead associated with either. They are more nimble and able to get things to happen like this with much less debate. Although, City Hall could use a little kick in the ass.

No, I have no problem with casinos or the gambling boats. In fact, I think Ohio is crazy not to let them open up in Cincinnati. I was just pointing out that they already exist in Indiana, so it doesn't really matter if Ohio or Kentucky gets them next, people already have the option. Light rail, they have no option.

yeah indiana has the boats. i have HAD to go to indiana to gamble.
notice i said that i HAD to go to indiana.
there are alot of ppl in the nati that would rather stay in their own city and gamble and go out for a good time. we should get them before newport or covington so we are still placing catch up to them.

Well, I cant gamble yet, so it isn't an inconvenience for me. But, I woule much rather see Cincinnati with riverboats than Newport of Covington with them.

the thing that frightens me is that there is actually a message board forum dedicated to Ohio.
"what's round on the ends and high in the middle? O-HI-O"

They also don't do things like spend almost a billion dollars on two stadiums for two teams that STILL suck.
