Well, over the weekend I took the plunge and bought a 360 (and yes, I made sure the store I got it from would honor the price drop for up to 30 days after purchase). I wanted to get Gears of War, but I ended up with Guitar Hero 2 because I had some people coming over.

Now, other than GoW, I'm not sure what else to get. There are always a bunch of games that I think I want, but then when I actually get the system I can't seem to remember any. A friend brought over Fight Night and Burnout, both of which were okay.

So, I'm looking for some suggestions. I like just about every genre, so I just need a few top picks to get me started.

Also, I need friends on live!

PSU since you like PSO. That will carry you for some time. I like Call of Duty 2, Viva Pinata, Full Auto and CRACKDOWN.

If you like racing games, PGR 3 can be found very cheap. Forza 2 just came out not long ago as well.

Call or Duty 2 was a great game.

G.R.A.W. looks amazing. (and is a good pick up if you like the series)

The live arcade games are fun! Make sure to download "Aegis Wing" I believe it's still free, and is an excellent side scrolling SHUMP.

More suggestions to come as I think of them  Wink

I totally forgot about Dead Rising. That looked really cool to me (plus I'm a huge fan of the original Dawn of the Dead).

GRAW also looks pretty sweet. I didn't think the 2nd one was out yet, but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the suggestions. I need to check these out.

I'm afraid to try PSU. I was pretty addicted to PSO when it first came out, and I don't need that happening again. Smiley

I was addicted to PSO but didn't stay hooked to PSU. I play a few times a month now. Capt Nintendo on the other hand is still addicted way too much. If you buy PSU you will save lots of money on other games. You can get PSU for 30 used.

Speaking of PSU, I found a demo for it on the Live Marketplace. I think that I'll give that a shot. Does anyone know if it allows me to play with non-demo users? I'd like to play with some of you if possible.

I've gotta play the PSU demo this weekend. From time to time in the full game, they offer unique item / weapons if you play on the demo. (these are called "demo weekends")

Cool. We'll have to find a time to meet up.

From what I've read, the demo characters are pruned every month. How do the items transition back to your main character?  Huh

Because they have a log of all of the XBL members who log into the demo. If these users either sign up for, or have the full game, they put the items in your "common box" (in the full game).

Of the games I've got I would definitely recommend:

Forza 2
Gears of War
Viva Pinata

Then other good ones are:

PGR3
Call of Duty 3
Test Drive Unlimited
Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Not so good ones:

Dead Rising (Very awkward and frustrating gameplay. Great concept, though)
Tomb Raider Legend (I enjoyed it but it's not really next-gen.)

Awful:

Just Cause (I had to trade it in because I did't like it at all. Too much of the exact same stuff except it's spread out over a long distance so everything takes a long time to do the same thing)
