I believe the states that still do common law only require one year. The criteria differs by state though. Thats all I know.

I'm 20, and single. And I can't image having a kid or being married. I'm going in the armed forces, and everyone around my age in my area is going out having babies. Now, I don't think all people who have kids at my age are bad, or really a bad thing, but eh... I wouldn't feel good about raising a kid right now.

Child on the way.

I believe common law(?) here states we will be married after living together for one year anyways.

It's 7 years.

I clicked the wrong button when I went to hit vote. I am just Married no kids unless you count animals.

some people actually count their pets as their children. lol. im guilty of that. when i had my ferret i treated him like he was my kid. took him places with me too. he rarely had to stay in his cage. then my daughter was born and i had to get rid of him.

Why would you have to get rid of your ferret when your daughter was born?

It's be 13 years for me and my wife.  We have three boys 10, 7, & 5.  The part that makes me sound really old is the fact that it's my second marriage, the first was about 6 years (no kids thank God!!)
