I know we have a section for DVD games such as Dragons Lair.

What about movies that come with games also?

The BloodRayne dvd had a complete version of BloodRayne 2 packed in with it and Doom has a playable Doom demo for Xbox.

Could these be done under the "Multiple Consoles" category?

I am pretty baffled at what should be done with these oddities.

Hey Iz.

My thought is that it should be listed under the technology required to play the included game/demo on a DVD.  If it requires a PC to play, it should be listed as a PC game, if it requires an Xbox, then list it under Xbox.

Well i was thinking that as well but how would it be listed?

BloodRayne Unrated Directors Cut DVD w/ BloodRayne 2(mine is widescreen i'm not sure if there is also a fullscreen version.)
&
Doom Unrated Extended Edition WideScreen w/ Doom 3 Demo
&
Doom Unrated Extended Edition FullScreen w/ Doom 3 Demo

That just seems a little long winded and odd. I was hoping to see what others thought because while it is staying in the original scope of adding any and all videogames to the database it is also an issue that hasn't come up before...

Maybe even a subsection in the database all to itself. That way we could ease ourselves into memorabilia and test the waters of having it.

something like Gaming/Entertainment Media where movies like Iz posted, Zelda DVD box sets, The Wizard, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, VHS tapes for game tips, video promos etc etc.

The best part of simply making a subsection is that a new script wouldn't be needed. Part numbers, region, upc, reviews, screens etc apply to these as well. Also DVD and VHS are already in the media dropdown list. The GBA videos could be moved here as well as PSP movies.

While in my mind this seems kinda easy and relatively plausible i am sure there is something that would make it not.

I have a feeling that while that is a great idea and solution to the problem it could very well be made a backburner project.

I remember some people being very irritated with all the UMD movies i had submit way back when.

Good idea Smiley

Oh god UMD!

That's right I said that dirty word. I think the next dirty word will be downloadable games so everyone make sure your children leave the room and your boss isn't looking, it's gonna get NSFW aound here.  slick

I still say UMD and GBA Videos shouldn't be in the database. Maybe one day they will be in there own database.

Actually, downloadable content will be tacked in the next version of the submission system. RF Generation is a video games database, and to ignore downloadable games, especially paid, would be a travesty.

That been said, it will be set up so that collections are not skewed.

That is awesome. Can Demos, and UMD type stuff be done like that as well?

Sorry I don't think demos should be in the main database.

Chronicles of Riddick also has a Escape from Butchers bay demo for Xbox.

Any other input/info/solutions?
