Hello all.

I found a rare console that I had been searching for: The Gakken Compact Vision (1983).  This console was released only in Japan and had 6 games released for it.  This popular manufacturer of handhelds and arcade machines gave it a try in the video game console war.  The Famicom beat it soundly and Gakken never again attempted to enter the console arena.  I got the system NIB.  Pics below.

Den --> Yes - this is an odd looking system - very unique.

Tyn --> Yes - I bought it with one game NIB and am receiving two other CIB cartidges for the system.  I believe there were only a total of 6 games released for it, but I have yet to verify this number.

Looks like a telephone. Pretty neat.

If I'm not mistaken the phone looking part is a handle to keep the system steady while you used the t-handled joystick, they just figured it'd be natural to put the start button where your left hand was.

The game I know for pretty sure is Mr. Bomb.  The other seller had two others (one might be a dupe) and is emailing me the titles a little bit later on this evening.  I did commit to buying them (the two unknown games) since there are not allot of them ($15 a piece + shipping).

Yes - the 'telephone' looking like holder is used to steady the system - the controller is the located on the right.  There is a top 'trigger' button on the 'telephone/steadying' handle - though from what I have been able to gather, this was not utilized a great deal.

EMS beat up my system!  The console itself seems to have survived the trip, but the box was beat like a piniata en route.  I am awaiting word on the insurance and what needs to be done so I can't play the system.  Look below and you can imagine my thoughts when it arrived in this fashion.  I have bought from this seller many times before and he is awesome, and packs everything great, as this system was.  It must have taken a severe crushing blow to it.  As soon as I find out what is going to happen, I will fire it up and take some screen shots of the games for it.

Oh man that sucks, good luck with the insurance claim.  Sometime it's hard to say what's worse, recieving something in that condition or the hastle you have to go thru to get them to make it right.  In any event I hope it's still working for you.
