I read a story about someone going to teach English in Japan and loads of kids stuck their fingers up his bum. Strange. Maybe it was just a fad in this one school that has passed now.

I've got a cousin who has been teaching english in South Korea for 5 years now, she seems to really enjoy it. I honestly don't think she'll come back to North America, avoiding her student loans prob doesn't hurt the motivation to stay either.

I don't know if you really should be the one going to teach English to the Japanese. Your capitalization and grammar aren't exactly stellar....

I'm actually right now planning something similar. I'm a writer and an English major in college, and as soon as I found out that this kind of thing wasn't just a rumor or a tall-tale ("I went and taught English, and d00d it was AWESOME, they gave me all kinds of stuff just 'cuz I'm an AMERICAN!") I started thinking about the best way to go about applying.
Still working on my AA, still in junior college (yeah I know... I cry sometimes to sleep at night XD ), but trying to better myself so I'm prepared.
Always wanted to be a teacher, and this seemed like the best place for me to go. English, in a country I've always wanted to go to, and with students who might actually be interested in learning... just beautiful. Beautiful.

I've read that too... I don't believe it was just at that one school. There is an arcade game like that as well.
