For cheats, not walkthroughs.
And that's only after I've beaten the game. I'm a purist like that.
I also look up secret stuff that I never would have found on my own (use the mystic wand four times while pressing O and doing 90 jumping jacks and the fairy appears!!).

I used to check them whenever I got stuck in a game, pretty useful walkthroughs Smiley

Whenever I need a cheat or a faq, that's the first site I check.

I very rarely look up any thing but when I do I just do a search and use whatever.

Once in a blue moon, they have less visible spyware than all the other sites.

Before I got started with World of Warcraft I was trying to play through as many of my PS2 games as possible, and I would use Game FAQs a ton when I was palying some of the more mediocre games.  Other than that, I use it if I am stuck on one spot for a while and can't see any way around whtever I'm stuck on

I use their walkthroughs for quick plays on some longer games, but I'm a purist for certain games, like Zelda.

I tend to look only when I can't figure something out, but never for cheats.

I'll use it when I get bored with a game.

Along the same lines of what I said earlier, I also use to enjoy using a Action Replay cart after clocking a game to dig up outtakes like dropped characters, hidden costume colours, unfinished levels, and the like.

I always give it the ole college try first, but beyond that I use gamefaqs for guides only.  Its a good resource overall, with plenty of content and user reviews for almost every game.

Shit, I didn't answer this one either.  Anyways, I use the site to see if there is anything I miss.  I'll also check for cheat codes after I've beaten the game.
