I wanted to buy Railroad Tycoon 3 but I couldn't find anywhere that had it in stock. I've seen a White Label version on Amazon but it wasn't in stock when I wanted it so I spent my money on other stuff. It's not often but it does happen.

Really, it depends on the game. I'm going to assume that this topic is talking about current- and last-gen games, and nothing before.

For instance, Animal Crossing: Wild World? Went through six-ish stores for several days trying to find it a couple of weeks after it came out. Ditto with Nintendogs (and I had the freaking game pre-ordered! It's a long story...). And don't even get me started on the Wii I don't have yet.

But... Children of Mana? Lost In Blue? Mario Kart DS? Not so much. It's odd what games are and aren't hard to find.

I just realized that these are all DS games. XD

How about an "I don't buy games until they cost 75% less than what they do when they're released" option?

Only games I've ever bought new were GTA: San Andreas, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and The Burning Crusade.

Never happened to me. Only time I had a problem with a system was the Wii.

It rarely happens to me.  Any big game that I want to get new I pre-order and pay in full before it comes out.  I can only remember one or two times that I've gone into a store and the game I want to get is sold out.

Haha thats what I do as well. Sucks when you want to talk about a game with your friends but they're like "What the hell I beat that like 2 years ago. "

You're my hero. Vanilla Ice RULES! I can't believe that there is another SERIOUS Vanilla Ice fan on this site. The special edition DVD should be called "Cool As Ice: Drop That Zero Edition".

I voted for "every once in awhile".

When I'm looking for older/discount/limited run titles, I'm more likely than not to find them sold out.

However, for new titles, I never run into that problem since if I know I'm going to want to buy it, I'll be likely to reserve it anyway.

Nothing better than finding something like Max Payne a few years late. Great game, three bucks.

I don't think I've ever had a problem finding a game.  New that is. Smiley

Everyonce in a while for me.

That is because i generally don't buy games when they first come out.
So really the only time is when i am looking for a somewhat uncommon or popular game and they recently sold out of used copies or their "old" new stock.
