New York, NY – February 6, 2007 – Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation 2 system, PSP system, and Nintendo's Wii™. Manhunt 2 is the debut title from the newly formed Rockstar London studio, which is developing the game in conjunction with series creator Rockstar North. The Wii™ version is being developed by Rockstar Toronto. Manhunt 2 will be available this summer.

"With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward," said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. "We are also excited to have our newest development team, Rockstar London, working on the title alongside our two established UK studios, Rockstar North and Leeds."

Why for the PS2?

Wii might be kind of cool.

Because PS2 is still alive and has a huge userbase.

Why not for the PS3 as well.

Probably because it'll be a PS2 game ported to the PSP and Wii as others have been, a game with lowered graphics and textures wouldn't sit well on the "high end" system the PS3 supposedly is.

Tan is right, except for saying the PS3 is "supposedly high end". It is high end. Smiley

I'm sorry, we don't have time machines here in Canada, so to us the PS3 has yet to show whether it truly is or not, and I wouldn't want to make a statement of it's capabilities based on speculation and conjecture alone no matter how sure I may or maynot be, that would go for any system.  Wink

Manhunt 2 for Wii is an interesting concept... oh screw it, from now on I call the Wii Nintendo. Just like most people use to just call a Master System a Sega because I just can't stand to say it's name again, I'm sick to death of it, and the confusion that follows it when you mention it to people.

Anywho, like I was saying, It's an interesting idea for the Nintendo, and I wonder just how interactive it'll be.
As for the PS2 release, it's no surprise. I mean they are guaranteed sales as many people still own one. The PS3 future is shaky and uncertain, and has a much smaller user base. They obviously don't believe it will be worth their time and effort at this point.

AND, since it's ALL backwards compatible, you can play it on your PS3 anyways.

Yeah, and that too. All the more reason it's a financially better choice for them to follow.
