My wife got me this for Christmas, well "technically" Santa did. You can check the link above to check it out. Just thought I'd chime in with what I think of it. I think it's pretty cool. It's basically a 2-D fighting game system. The novelty is that the playable characters are all on trading cards. Other cards include power upgrades, finishing moves, attack mods and training levels. The console media is CD and opens like a laptop. The part that flips open is the card scanner. You choose a character from the cards you have and scan it into the came, you can also scan in the other upgrade cards before you begin play. As you progress you can re-scan your character card to update you character. The character cards are like memory cards.

I have 2 games for it. X-men and Interstellar Wrestling League. The are pretty much Genesis/SNES though the X-men game seems closer to PS1.

RIght now there are only 3 games available. The third being Ben-10. The box list Avatar as an available game but I've not seen it anywhwere and it is not listed on the site. The site has 2 more games listed as Coming Soon, Marvel Super Heroes and Spider-Man.

I doubt this thing will have much longevity. It is pretty cheap though you could spend quite a bit trying to get all the cards. They come in packs of 6 and there's about 100 per came. The fact that it appears to be for fighting games only is limiting. The IWL game was already in the clearance bin at Target. That's not a good sign.

That said I've had fun with the system so far and hope to see a few more games for it before it fades into obscurity.

I've been looking at getting one as well. I saw the games on clearance and the system was down to 50 bucks at Target. Seems like the cards are what really costs you money.

I saw this at TRU for $70 and I seriously considered picking it up.  If it's only $50 at Target, I might go out and get it now.

I saw this on TV.  I don't think to post about in here but it did look interesting.  I will most likely want to see how cheap they get before I buy.

I like the idea behind the system. But I'll have to wait until I find one really cheap before I'll buy.

my wife stopped at Target at lunch, the card sets for Interstellar Wrestling were down to $1.98. she grabbed me 5 more packs. I may hit a few Targets tomorrow to see if any more are marked that low.

How's the frame rate on that thing? It looked pretty sluggish on the website.
