Phoenix Wright is by far and away the best DS game.

Either of the Castlevanias are good, however I like Dawn of Sorrow a bit more. I personally can not stand New Super Mario brothers. It feels nothing like Mario World or Super Mario Brothers 3. It is essentially a revamp of the original except it has absolutely no difficulty. In my opinion, you would be better off getting Yoshi's Island DS as far as a platformer goes. New Super Mario Brothers does have the best multiplayer for the DS though. They have one mode kinda like the original Mario Brothers, and another which feels like Mario Party.

And as stated above, Meteos, EBA, Advance Wars etc. Also don't hesitate on importing some gems such as Jump Super Stars and Bleach.

Puyo pop isnt a bad series though Fevor isnt all that great.  It added the new cheap shot meter that makes it near imposible to win if your on the loosing end.  Too powerfull a game breaker.

If you like old style RPGs, I'd sugest Deep Labyrinth.  Not many like it but it's not a bad game.  While it has the shody magic system simular to Lost Magic, it atleast plays decent.  Lost magic, avoid that one.  It's not bad but with the horible AI of your own summons in adition to the magic system, it makes the game harder then it should be.

For imports, your sadly much on your own there as I've yet to try any import DS games as of yet.  I try to avoid paying up to twice what a high end domestic release would cost when it comes to games.  I hear good things from the Bleach series on the DS though.  Only problem with that is it's an anime based game.  Sometimes those are hit or miss, but more often they miss.

BTW, how is the Drift King series on the Super Famicom?  I've cosidered picking it up as the one on the Saturn wasnt half bad.

I'll have to check it out again since it's been awhile, but I think it was pretty good.
