I went outside my apartment today to take out the recyclables and sitting on top of the recycle bin was a loose Toy Story cart for Genesis. Needless to say I gave it a new home. Not much of a find but kind of an odd place for a find I thought.

Wow, odd indeed... have you tested it to see if it works?

Yea, apartment trash rules, that is how I got my bedroom TV and VCR, and my entertainment center.  The TV and VCR's cords were cut so I spliced on an extension cord and it worked

tested the game out today and it works fine. No signs of any other games though, just this one sitting on top of the lid. oh well. this is like my 3rd or 4th find like this and its not like I dig around in the trash or anything. they have all been sitting on top like that.

I've gotten some pretty nice stuff out of the garbage, but never any video games.  I'm sure I've drove past them though...
I often wonder that when I'm driving past houses.  I wonder if there is a box of old atari games sitting in the garage covered in dust.  Maybe something sitting along the curb after the garage was cleaned.  Could it be games ?

I was riding my bike once and spotted an atari logo on a box sitting on top of a big pile of trash that was hauled to the curb.  Turned out to be a boxed controler for a 5200.

I found a chair in the trash. Smiley I don't understand why it was thrown out. It's comfy, it works just fine. I've had it for years now. It spins, too.

It has hypodermic needles in it.

I'm afraid you have AIDs now. Sad

That sucks, sorry to here you have AIDs NekoOtaku.

Actually, the town I live in has a spring cleanup once each year. So you can throw out stuff the garbage company won't usually take.

This is a list of cool stuff I have gotten in the past:
Skateboard - moderately used, but still good
Bowling Ball - couple small dings, but has gotten me a few 200+ games
LazyBoy Chair - scrubbed it a little and you would swear it was brand new
2 Tool Tins - sold these at my rummage sale this summer for 4 bucks each, not bad for getting them for free.

Are you sure there weren't hypodermic needles in that LazyBoy? Maybe you have AIDS now too! Sad

I don't know that I'd be too concerned about hypodermic needles but god only knows how many farts and from whose ass those chairs have absorbed.
