So, the lasy few weeks we have had play-offs. Last night was the championship game. For those of you who dont know, I play roller hockey. I used to play ice many years ago, but roller is less expensive overall.

Last week we won our play-off game 9-2, and we had the championship game last night. We won 5-1 Grin I am the teams goalie and team captain, and must say that I really did not think we ever were going to lose.
Anyhow, I figured I would throw my personal "sports" story out there for you all. Wink

The surface is called "sport court". It is kind of a high density plastic blend tile (or something like that)

Our team name has been "The Beers" for about 2 years now, but most of the players who came up with that name no longer play for us. Last season we added 3 Slovakian guys to our roster. I was thinking of changing the team name to "Slovakian Brew" or "The Internationals". We have 1 Canadain and 3 Slovakians on the team, along with 4 Americans.

Congratulations on winning the championship!

No one around here plays hockey. No schools and no leagues. My friends and I use to try to get some games going in the early 90's when the home team was winning the Stanley Cup(Pittsburgh Penguins). We also went to a lot of Wheeling Thunderbirds(local ECHL team now called the Nailers) games. Unfortunately playing hockey never became very popular around here.

When I was stationed in Jacksonville, NC they had outdoor hockey rinks, but not around my home town (Steubenville, OH). We had to play in a driveway. It worked for us. Basketball is a big sport around here. I have been in a few tournaments but we never won 1st place, 2nd and 3rd out of about 20 teams.

Where I grew up in the U.P. of Michigan, we had a field that the city would flood every winter. It made the best hockey rink Smiley

What's a winning team without a little bit of Canuck magic onboard?  Wink
