If you would hit the lotto and won 5 million dollars  how much would you spend on games or would you want nothing to do with collecting.

I would build me a huge building and work on having every cartridge based game complete.. Im not really interested in a million dollar home, sports cars, trips etc.  I would put enough in the bank to live on and give away a bunch of it.

I would buy a house and have a really big game room built. I would also get a couple new cars, nothing crazy like a 200k car maybe 60-70k. I would invest a lot of it also set up my kid's college fund. I would for sure use some to buy games. I would work on a CIB 2600 and NES collection. i would also hook some friend's and family up with some cash.

Pay off the morgage on my parents house... because I'll own it then. Do some minor renovations all around (garage, attic), buy some games, get a car for the summer, and a winter beater. Buy a garage for a few other cars. I'd love to buy a few crappy cars and restore them -- so many cars are rotted here, and it'd turn heads.

Then put the rest in the bank, CD's, IRA's, 401K, etc.

I wouldn't do a damn thing, apart from what I already do.
I would take the 2.5 mil (after taxes) and place it in stocks/bonds, and just live on the interest it provides.
At 5% (a very modest interest rate from bonds even) that would be $125K a year, not too shabby at all.

I'm would still want to finish out the degree and enter the job market.  It would be nice to have a job and not worry about being fired from said job.  (Office pranks are so much fun.)

Pay off my mortgage, car loans, and invest for my childrens future.  I'd splurge alittle and put the rest into stocks/bonds and live off the interest.  I'd like to take a trip around the world maybe stopping off in japan for some famicom goodness.

No joke, I would start a winery to compete with Vinoklet.

Does that really count as a office prank though?

I play the lottery illegally, my dad buys me tickets. (Ive only done it like twice though, and Ive paid him back both times) so If I won, I would make my parents claim the money since I dont think I could, give it back to them, give 1 million to the church and than buy a car, eventually a house and college.  lots of games though.

You want to buy a college?  That must be one hell of a lotto.

I'd do the same as Hydrobond, except take an initial 100k and put it on a checking account and see it as my initial salary Wink  I'd use it to buy a car in the same price range as Scott (50-75K) and use the rest as a buffer for extra daily expenditures (more games/accessories and alcohol, of course Wink) and holidays.

Holy crap give a mil to a church!

Wow... just wow...

A church huh?
You know i am a Minister of the Universal Life Church. (www.ulc.org)
I know there is an establishment somewhere on or about the Cape.

You can give me a mil if you ever win. It will be better spent then if you give it to a "real" church

EDIT
Oh an i like Pieters added idea of alcohol.
That sounds like a much better plan.

I think most people who frequent the internet are Ministers of the Universal Life Church.
