I know alot of you (including myself) get alot of your games from garage sales or flea markets, but I want to hear your opinion on something.  Is it better to come late or go early?  It may sound like a simple question, but both sides have their pros and cons. If you go early, you get a better selection of items and find some unbelievable prices.  But, if you go late (last hour of flea market or last day of a garage sale) the seller will be more willing to give a better price becuase they just wana get rid of it.    Of course the best thing to do is go early then go back to it later, but that is not always possible.

Before ebay I would say late because you could get better prices..but now with all the collectors and the many trying to make a living solely off selling on ebay you better get ther first or you wont get nothing...Ive put this in other posts The flea markets here are patrolled by 3 0r 4 guys who swarm every car that pulls in before they even have a chance to get out of there cars looking for video games..I even watched as the one guy actually opened the back door to a car and started digging thru the stuff..and the yard sales usally out of the first 5 people that show up one of them will buy up any games...so the old saying holds true the earlybird gets the worm.

What wrldstrman said Smiley

I've run across many people out very, very early looking to make those big ebay bucks, and games are usually on their top 10 list of things to buy and resell.  Plan your yard sale day the day before, if you've got the classifieds in front of you.

The earlybird dose get the worm. But lucky for me not too many people in this town sell on ebay. I haven't been to any garage sales in a month or so now, but when I went early I got good deals. Like when I got 78 for 60, Gamecube w/ four controllers w/game boy player and 7 games for $60.00, and a PS2 w/ memory card for $3.00.

Garage sales here start on Friday and since I work I can't go. I dont even bother wasting my time going to them on Saturday. All the good stuff is gone by then.

I try to go as early as possible.  Most people are willing to deal at garage sales, so I usually don't have to worry about prices.  If I see something that I want and the seller won't budge on the price, I'll give them my phone number and tell them to give me a call if it doesn't sell.  I haven't had any sellers call me yet ( Grin), but at least I'm covering my bases.

a lot of people start on friday here too. it sucks missing out on that but if I go on Saturday I go early. but that's not too hard since most don't start till 9:00 or 10:00 anyway.

sometimes if they are close by I can hit Church rummage sales on friday on my lunch break. I've had a few finds doing that.

That's a really good idea, I may have to start doing that.  One time I gave my ohone number to a woman because I bought her NES (for $1) and I told if she found the games to give me a call.  So far, nothing though.

Too expensive and not nearly as much fun.  There is something awesome about getting an intellavision for a buck or atari games for $0.50 a piece.

It's best to go early if you want to get the good items. But if you want to make deals it is easier to do late in the day.

It is far better to go in the morning because the shit isn't bought yet but like Barracuda said they are more willing to give the stuff for practically free right before the end of the rummage.  Here in Wisconsin alot of people run rummages on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
