Hey now,

My best friend got me the complete Battle 360 and Patton 360 sets for Christmas.

Haven't seen Patton 360 yet, so I have that to look forward to.

Those don't look like Pawn Stars or Ancient Aliens...are you sure they're factual historical programming?

I kinda of remember this from when I was a teenager in like Jr High(or early High-School) and it was $6 in the Dollar Store for 5 Discs/14+ hours so I grabbed it.

Sorry for the late reply, it was a dollar general(don't know if anyone others would have it because it was in the bargain bin instead of shelved)

they still follow the older History Channel trope of history started and ending with WWII

I was kinda hoping he'd give me an Air Crash Investigation DVD box set.

Maybe next year.

Thanks to Shoboni's tip, I finally managed to track down a Dollar General with the Poltergeist:  The Legacy DVD.  Thanks man!  I also got a couple more VHS.

When I was showing some of my thrift stuff to my wife, Howard the Duck was something she commented on.  I mentioned that it was a pretty bad movie and I was excited to watch it.  She said she LOVES the movie.  I thought I knew her and then she throws that curve ball at me.  I don't even know anymore.

My wife and I are in the process of getting rid of all of our DVDs. A ton have already been donated/sold but many more remain. If you guys are interested I can post here before they go on ebay but I prefer to get rid of them in lots. I'm not sure how I would feel about having people cherry pick, I just want them outta here, ya know?

I was thinking about bidding on your stuff, but unfortunately I already had most of the DVDs in those lots.  I'm at the point now where I have most of the big name horror stuff, so I'm after the more obscure stuff.  Except for Zombie.  I still haven't found a copy of that locally which absolutely baffles me.

I had a $5 Best Buy reward certificate so I ran up there this weekend and got these:

I've wanted to watch Frankenstein's Army since I first heard about it and it was only $5.  I've been wanting to grab that 50 movie collection for a while, but I could never justify the $20 price tag I saw on it at most of the stores around me.  It was finally $10 which was just the right price for me.  There are actually quite a few movies on here I've wanted to check out, but there are a few that really stuck out like The House By the Cemetary, They Saved Hitler's Brain and Don't Answer the Phone.  I just hope the quality isn't absolutely terrible.  Granted I don't think They Saved Hitler's Brain deserves the 5 star restoration treatment, but that doesn't mean I want a 9th generation VHS dub on this DVD.

No, not yet.  My wife isn't really into horror so I have to find time to watch it by myself, and whenever I find some I've been playing video games a lot more recently.

I've really tried to like Gabriel Iglesias, but no matter how many times I watch his stand up specials they just never seem to grab me.  I wouldn't say he's bad, but he just doesn't get me going.

Well I'll be damned. My new score store ended up having 6 of the 7 volumes of Gungrave, and I only paid $15 for those 6. I was wanting to watch the show before I reviewed Overdose anyway.

I've seen a few Gungrave DVDs over the years, but never the 1st one, which has always prevented me from picking them up.
