I cant get into digitpress because i have been "banned" for reasons unknown to me, I did search the name though and came up with nothing.  I know of someone named marty goldberg, who has a VERY, very large collection, and he lives very close to me.

I thought he worked for a gaming mag, but maybe he used to work for that, who knows.  I think Digital Press himself, Joe Santulli, has a huge collection as well.  Other than those that Canadian guy who's collection pics went all over the web probably has the largest known collection...but I bet that the largest collections are hidden from the public.

No, I'd have to say that's bullcrap. What's gonna happen? Stoners are gonna come steal it out of your car while your inside?

If you've got it flaunt it.

People collect for various reasons.  Generally people show their collections not only to show off but to get other people's opinions on them.  Those collectors with insane collections know that they have (one of) the largest collection(s), so there's no need to show off.  Also, I would suspect that the largest collection in the world would be in some mansion somewhere from a high executive career-oriented person, who would have better things to do than show off his/her collection on the internet (like actually play the games, or buy more, in the little free time that they have) Wink

Thats a pretty sweeping generalization.  One that I certainly wouldn't make.

Well, it's obviously speculation (especially some of the details), but I do think that a certain level of wealth is a prerequisite for attaining the largest collection in the entire world.  To get a huge collection you need a combination of time and money.  They are generally substitutes, but honestly, money gets you further as with time you are dependant on other factors (such as luck finding a good deal, waiting on the game to show up, etc) and with money your options are almost endless (everybody/thing has their price, so with tons of money you can purchase just about any game from anyone).  In a matter of fact, if you have enough money and the aim to get the largest collection, you can hire one or more people to do the shopping for you.

Anyway, technically, I'd assume that the largest game collection is from a very wealthy individual (or group of individuals) who may like to keep their collection private - but in practice, I can find some reasoning as to why this would not be the case.

Ok, lets just end the discussion now.  Everyone knows Shaggy has the biggest collection. Period.
