Has anybody seen this documentary yet?

It's about a guy that eats nothing but McDonalds for 30 days. He does this because the lawyers of McDonalds said, in a lawsuit, that McDonalds' food is perfectly healthy and suitable to be eaten every day.

The guy starts with an outstanding health, and ends with all sorts of problems. Lack of energy, physical addiction, liver problems, overweight, etc.

Apart from seeing him eating and visiting his doctors or dietist, the documentary is filled with items about the fast food industry. From what's in the food, to the general attitude of the American people.

I thought it was quite entertaining. It's not a very surprising movie, after all, it's quite obvious eating mcdonalds for 30 days will make anybody sick (even though he gets sicker than expected). He admits this himself as well, which makes the movie more than a half-assed attempt at dissing McDonalds.

Definately worth a watch.

Yeah, especially his liver was fucked up. The doctor said that if he were an alcoholic he'd definately was on his way to death.
Once done he recovered quite fast. His girlfriend put him on a vegan diet for 6 weeks. Poor guy.

I think I'd take death by McDonald's over a 6-week vegan diet.

Jared's Subway diet remains unchallenged. Someone should investigate.

I'll probably see it, as soon as I'm in the rare mood to watch a movie that doesn't have at least ten violent deaths. Always remember though, no documentary can really be trusted. My film professor said "Every film is propoganda". I believe that statement. You can make just about anything look anyway you want when you manipulate film. Fast food is actually a very easy target if you think about it. It's all in how it's set up and presented. I could make a similar film but only eat the McDonalds salad for a month. Then in the end, I could truly say that I ate only McDonalds food for 30 days and remained perfectly healthy. Also, Morgan Spurlock probably could eat nothing but beef and french fries that he cooked at home for 30 days and end up just as sick as he did in his movie. Either way, if we just conveniently leave out exactly what was eaten we can create the impression that McDonalds food as a whole is healthy or unhealthy. It's all in the presentation. You also don't know for certain what else he may have done behind the scenes to make himself even sicker, just for shock value. He could have been chugging tubs of bacon grease or loading up on valium off camera and we would never know.

You make a very valid and hillaroius point. But no matter how you look at it you cant eat healthy at Mcdonalds or at any fastfood joint. If he had just eaten salads he probably wouldve ended up malnurished or something. In order to stay healthy you need to have a balanced diet. A diet i refuse to abide by until i get out of shape.

Could be worse. I was thinking about this thread when I ordered a Sbarro's spaghetti and meatballs dinner at the mall. 30 days of nothing but Sbarro's probably wouldn't be healthy at all.

I think 99.99% of all restaurants would be unfit for eating 3 times a day. The menu's of restaurants just aren't varried enough. Which isn't surprising, since going out to eat is meant to be a treat, not something to be done 3 times a day. And who the hell wants superhealthy, balanced food as a treat?

I just remembered a period from my early 20's which was indeed worse than we've mentioned here. I went through a few months where my diet was mainly Krystal and Miller Genuine Draft. For those of you unfamiliar with Krystal, it's very much the same as White Castle. What they call meat looks more like it was some kind of paste before cooking. Now that I think about it, that must be a big factor in why I was significantly nuttier in that period.

Any food or particular foods if eaten for any length of time without manipulating said dietary habbit can be unhealthy, bottom line. Still it sounds like an interesting watch which says a lot coming from me. I hate watching anything as tv and movies contribute to lack of imagination.

When I first read this, I thought you were talking about Crystaal the drink.

I can't remember the guys name, but this guy has had a Big Mac from MacDonalds for like 10,000 days straight and he is perfectly healthy.  It just makes me wonder even more what the guy in the movie was doing to make himself that sick.

I think that guy was in the movie too. I believe he had over 9.000 big macs. But that's usually all he got. He wouldn't get fries and probably eat enough varied food at home.
