Boot disc from whomever you choose, I prefer the DC-X.

If I'm not mistaken, the later releases of the game will not work with a boot disc at all. I'm sure someone else knows for sure.

Get the import and use DC-X or any other boot disc that allows you to play imports like Funk_Buddy says.

I looked up the dc-x boot disc and some people said it didnt work for them. they said the gameshark or codebreaker worked better. have any of you tried the dc-x with shenmue 2?

I have not since my copy is sealed. I have used the DC-X and only found one PAL game that wouldn't work. Of course I don't own a bunch either. There are some issues with Shenmue II and Headhunter. The re-release or later releases will not work with any boot disc.

You can use a GS or CB disc, but I'm not sure if that'll fix the problem with the two games mentioned. As for Japanese games, I've not had one problem and I have 150+ games.
