Well after a nice run it appears as though the powers that be do not want E3 to continue anymore. They say it it is not worth their money that they put in it to get the results that they got. Personally I think Sony Bitched about the fact that the internet is making fun of  "RIIIIIIIIIIDDGGGEEE RAAAAAAACCCEEERR!" Sony would rather have their own event so they can utilize a Gestapo type force to supress all bad press. God knows Nintendo will do it if they are forced to restart SpaceWorld.

The rumor is that it will be announced in the next 48 hours that e3 will be either cancelled or severely downsized next year. Is that sad, happy, or you just don't care? Personally I think that is slightly sad, and I think a few companies are throwing a temper tantrum that a certain company stole the show over their new toys.

[ANTI-SONY RHETORIC]Look's as though Sony hated that their ultra powerful PS3 was overshadowed by the Wii even after they announced that they had stolen the idea of a three dimension controller from the company? Hey Sony! BETAMAX! That is all.[/ANTI-SONY RHETORIC]

SpaceWorld was Nintendo's response to the Tokyo Game Show. Rather than having a presence at the TGS, Nintendo would hold SpaceWorld, which was their own show intended to rival the TGS. Over time TGS got bigger and bigger while Nintendo's SpaceWorld fell out of splendor. Last year's unveiling of the Wii Controller at the TGS was a big deal because for the longest time Nintendo would not even consider going to TGS.

the way i look at it is sony is like how sega used to be.  they had 2 great systems, (genesis and master system) a sucky portable, and the PS3 will be the equivalent of the sega saturn.

Let's hope you are right.  Now on the E3 front I had heard rumors that companies were not getting there return on the show so it might be downsized but how much of that was true I did not know.  I guess it is true. Sad  E3 rules!   Don't go away!

It's doubtful that E3 will go away entirely. I'm curious as to how "they" calculate whether or not it is "worth their money". If this is a matter of being about Sony, my counter to that is "why should a PS3 be worth MY money?...just because YOU said so?".

However, if all 3 were saying it's not worth the money, then what is their reasoning? And if E3 is not going to be the primary public vehicle to promote their future wares, then what will take its place?

God I hope so. That will be hilarious.

Boy I am going to miss the big, huge e3. It was the time of the year in the gaming world that everyone could look forward to. You always knew the bombshells were going to be dropped at e3. Now where and when are the bombshells going to be dropped? TGS? Leipizig? Anywhere? Definitely takes the anticipation out of the event.
