Just watched it last night. I didnt think it was bod or good. Only thing I could think of was it was the strangest movie I have ever seen.

Anyone else seen it?

I've seen it...kinda thought to myself after watching it, "what the?!?"  Of course, I thought the same thing after reading the book, too.  An odd book AND movie.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is awesome. Well the books are. The movie was ok, the BBC series I liked better. But it's basically a Sci-Fi Discworld.

I liked it, but I too found it a bit odd. That might be why I liked it.

It was British quirkyness at it's best.  I liked the movie, have yet to read the book.  Trader Jake is in the process of reding the books, so hopefully he will weigh in on the matter.

The opening scene, with "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish", seemed a bit over the top, and may have made the rest of the movie comparatively better.

The book was better.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.  It was funny, amusing, and worked with the book nicely.  I haven't seen the BBC Guide stuff, but this movie was a lot of fun, and it gave me something I could watch with my mom, sister AND nephew (who all have different tastes in movies than I do).

I've read all 5 books of the trilogy twice the first time in high school and then again last year. It's definately quirky brit humor. You have to have a taste for it. Besides the BBC show there was also 2 radio shows. I've never heard those but I have seen the BBC show. I've got in on DVD and Laser too.

I liked the movie. But I like that weird brit stuff.
