lol this is one of those topics that is sure to stir up some shit.  Smiley

Some of these systems are pre-16 bit wars and some are between the 16-bit and 32-bit wars in their own little niche.  Like the Jag, 3DO and 32X were in direct competition to each other for instance.

i dont get what your trying to say by just doing a random list of consoles, they are of all diffrent powers even when they use the same CPU.

The only ever "war" was betwen Sega and Nintendo lovers and crap games mags the companies didnt really have that much of a fight

i choose sonic over mario anyday. but dont get me wrong i like nintendo too. just sonic was more fun and fast paced when marion was all about breaking bricks with his head and stepping on things.

There is no way I could pick one over the other.  My first home console was the NES with of course SMB/DH cart.  Then SMB3 just rocked my world.  It's probably my all-time favorite game, well atleast tied for favorite with 1 or 2 others...

Then...I got a Genesis with Sonic and that rocked my world again.  Totally different than Mario in the sense of speed, but totally the same as Mario as it was a perfectly crafted 2-d side-scroller...

I used to get so mad at all the Sega commercials back in the early to mid 90's that tried to make it look like people who played Nintendo games were loosers.  grrr

Looks good, although I do think that some of those handhelds were 8-bit, such as the Game Boy, Game Gear, and Atari Lynx...but I could be mistaken..

Nod, I dont possibly see how a gameboy could have been 16 bit.
