Looks good, although I do think that some of those handhelds were 8-bit, such as the Game Boy, Game Gear, and Atari Lynx...but I could be mistaken..

i think that just game gear is, but i included it because it competed with game boy.

You might wonder why i put the 32x in there, saying that its not 16-bit.  it was part of the era and an add-on to the genesis, so i included it.

well if we're getting technical the TG16 was a 8 bit system with 16 bit graphics that went toe to toe with the Nes/Famicom.

The TurboGrafx 16 actually held dual 8 bit processors, and it showed 16 sprites per screen.

Oh, and... 50th post  Cool

I think he meant that the TG-16 was mostly only competing with the NES/FamiCom (during the reign of 8-bit systems), so it wasn't really a part of the "16-bit war".

And depending on who you talk to, if you're only including 16-bit systems from the era, I'd rethink the Jag.

I believe the Jag was not 16 bit but actually 64 bit.  As for the Turbo Grafx there is debate as to if it really was a 16 bit system.  I had two 8 bit processors not one 16 bit processor so technically it wasn't a true 16 bit system.

People say that the Neo-Geo is 24-bit, but it has a 16-bit processor and a 8-bit processor working together.  Wink

Is it just me... or did shaggy repeat what I said two posts before...

I don't know how well these systems sold in the USA, but I wouldn't call the turbo-grafx 16 and SNK neo-geo main systems. As far as sales numbers go, these two are far out of the Snes's and Genesis's league.

Besides, if there's one console that deserves the title 'overpriced', it's the Neo Geo.

Als, the Neo Geo cd wasn't an add on, it was a stand alone system.

So no, you are not 'right about this'.
