I sold a super nintendo on ebay. The buyer had no feedback but paid right away..The item arrived and the buyer didnt waste anytime saying the nintendo didnt work and wanted a refund..My boy sat and played the system disconnected it and packed it in the box and mailed it..I could be wrong but it seems like the buyer bought my snes got it and is going to send back a non working snes in its place..the buyer sent a email saying they sent the snes back and wanted a refund..they didnt say hey the snes wasnt working or try to work thru the problem..i told them i would send another deck in place of the one they claim isnt working but they werent interested...I havent received the susposed non working unit back .I just feel that the buyer is trying to rip me off

reason i feel that way is
the buyer just registered and has no feedback
the system played just fine
buyer didnt want a replaement
buyer wanted selling price and shipping returned
the buyer sent the email 2 days after i mailed it not sure if it even had time to get there

i guess it is possible it could of got broke during shipping but seems kind of fishy to me..

I offered to send another deck or refund the purchase price upon receiving the snses back   

what do you think i should do.

I dont know exactly what you should do for this situation, but maybe in the future, you should ask that bidders have at least 5 feedback?

Well, unless you get the unit back and it does not resemble the one you sent at all and you can prove it...I would go with this...
You sent to this guy, that means you have his full name and address, not to mention his user name (which are commonly used as peoples names on multiple sites).  I would Google the crap out of all the info you have to see if you can find any dirt on any bad trading/references he has done/obtained.
If nothing else, you can always refuse the refund....someone with no circumstantial evidence and no verified feedback does not have the power over you; if it would come down to the police getting involved and what not.  Also, you have a witness in your defense, you stated that your son was playing on the system up til you sent it out.
I hope I have helped out in some small way and hope that things work out for you, I hate to see people get screwed over by bad traders.

I would also first wait until you received the NES that he sent back.  It does seem fishy with the facts you stated.  Did your auction have a picture?  If so, compare the one you receive back with the picture from your auction to ensure that it really is the same one, and then test it to make sure that it really does not work anymore.  If everything holds true as to what the buyer claims, then I would send him another working deck like you suggested or possibly give him a refund.  If it's a different SNES deck or if it's obvious that the buyer broke it or anything like that then I wouldn't refund anything even if he sent it back.  It's like the saying goes, you break it you pay it...and a broken piece isn't worth anything so if he's the cause of it then he should carry the burden.

Did you write down the serial number before you sent the system? If not, tell him that you will only take back the original snes, with proper serial. Upon arrival you will inspect the system (inside and out) and if it is indeed the same, you will refund his money, minus the shipping. A lot of times they will try and send you back another snes that has a broken ac adapter port (not sure if you understand what I mean). This has happened twice to me and I didn't give back the buyers money on both accounts. Also, did you do tracking? I always include free tracking, just for my preference. Good luck Doug.

i will for sure start writing down the serial number..they said they mailed it back almost a week ago and it hasnt arrived..but it only took 2 days to get to them...hmmm..im going to send another email  see what happens..

I wouldn't send another email. Why bug him for something that probably isn't your fault. Until he contacts you again I wouldn't do a thing.

I had this happen and the guy kept saying I'm sending it, I sent it, so on and so forth, until the 3 months went by that he could no longer leave feedback and I deleted all his emails. He never sent anything back or emailed me again. Some people are all talk and never do a thing.


Also if he said he sent it, make him scan his receipt to prove it or get a tracking number from him. If he said he doesn't have it or didn't track it he's got no proof he sent it.

You could play the game back with him and say you never got it if that's the case, but I wouldn't. Just stand your ground, and ebay SHOULD stand behind you, but they more then likely won't.

well i got the snes back and it wasnt the one i sent the one returned had the side broken out of it and was very yellowed...i wish there was something other than ebay...i told the buyer either send the right one back or no refund of any kind.

they actual filed a dispute with paypal..after looking thru what they sent back i also noticed the controllers werent the same ones i sent..i never wind the cords around the controllers i always fold the cords and put a twist tie around them..the  ones sent back you could tell they had been wrapped around the controllers for a long time and the cords had been broken into and taped together..this is the first time in almost 1000 transactions someone has tried to rip me off..they already gave me a neg which is unfair since they are nothing but thiefs ..since they had 0 feedback it appears they thought they could get a free replacement for there old snes for free  im just glad i waited and looked at the snes before refunding any money..now theres no way in heck im giving them a cent.

What crooks! make sure you contact paypal as well and tell them your story. You may need to clean out your account and stop using it, because paypal will just drain your money without notice. Hope all works out for you Doug. Good luck.

Nope. I had someone neg me for a cd that didn't have the back cover artwork. I stated that in the description and they neg'd me. Immediately afterwards there account was no longer active. I asked eBay and said "look at why they neg'd me", "Now check and see what I stated in the auction". They  said " there was nothing they can do, I would have to convince the eBay member to take it back.

What a bunch of bullshit but in the future I would state that everything is as is and there are NO refunds!  Put it in writing is one thing I've learned working at the hospital with all the backstabbers I work with.  That way you can refer back to the auction writing and point out to them it is working but is sold as is and after it leaves your hands you have nothing to do with it.
