Many of you may remember anti-gaming nutjob Jack Thompson's insane Modest Video Game Proposal of last year. It was the proposal which set off the infamous battle with Penny Arcade and caused many other anti-gaming groups to distance themselves from Jack (due to his sadistic ravings).

For those of you who don't know, Thompson wrote a proposal for a video game which featured a grieving father on a cross country rampage to slaughter gamers and game industry supporters, as vengeance for the death of his son. Thompson dared the game industry to produce the game, and said he would donate $10,000 to the ESA if anyone actually did.

A group of coders calling themselves Thompsonsoft actually made the game. They're the only group I know of that actually finished a whole game based on the proposal, and it's a riot.

I played it this afternoon. In the 3rd level, the enemies throw X-Boxes at you. That was all I needed to see to declare it 1000% awesome. You can download the full version for free at the company's website.http://imokgame.com/index.html Play the game. It's pretty cool.

So if, say, EA picks up the licence from Thompson Soft, he'll donate it?  Sounds like he'll just come up with some other bullshit excuse.

EDIT: Actually, they should market it to Rockstar...knowing them, they'd actually publish it Tongue

I played it a bit yesterday, got to the end and beat the boss, but then I died trying to leave the building (I spent too much attention on killing the fleeing kids Wink).  Anything spectacular happen after that, or just a simple ending?  I thought the end boss was pretty funny Wink

Nothing really happens in the end. OK goes home. That's it. The uzis are the best weapon. If you spend all your money on those you can fly through the game, until the end. You should buy lots of rocket launchers for the final level.
