I am not getting any Game Gear codes working with this game, and furthermore I have two copies each with slightly different labels. One has a bigger "Mystic Defender" on the top of the cart, and the Genesis logo is more shiny looking, and is

I realize there are two different variations of the game, and I want to know if I have both of them. I took pix of my carts, but they show the differences, well the top of the cart, you can't make out the Genesis logo differences in the pics, well maybe.

The tops of the carts:

Although you can not make it out -- I can't but there is a difference in the Genesis logos.

I found out that the one with the big text is the later release -- I got the Game Genie codes working and I will play through the other version later.

I hate variants. Must resist collecting them.

Thanks for posting the pics.

I am anal about having, well the orignal releases of the Earily Genesis games that had crap changed around.

I dunno, I have obessed over some crazy things in the past. Crap, I'm so close to getting all of the Genesis games I want -- around 40. Kind of a huge list, but everything is so cheap, bar a few titles and a few odds and ends.

I both hate and love variations.
Anyone add this to the trivia section of this games page yet?

And just when I thought I had a grasp on the Atari 2600 label variations!  Thanks for the pics, too.  I've heard there are similar variations (label and Game Genie wise) for Populous, too.

Actually, I know two people with the different labels and their copies have a DRESSED Alexandrea, so... I will have to play through both copies to find out.

OK, I beat my copy with the small text on the top label, and my final boss is nude.
