sega genesis collecting

i would like to collect sega genesis games and try to get a complete collection. i have 30 games right now ( i found most of them in the attic, they used to be my uncles. all of them work fine but the genny is crap) a genesis 2 that (like i said before) is crap, but all of the games are in the box. i do not have a 32x or sega CD or powerbase converter, i do how ever have a mint working, complete knuckles choatix that i got for 50 cents at a thrift store. i know it works cuz i tried it at a friends house.
well, basically what im posting for is what are some rare games? the only 2 i know are spiderman web of fire and herzog zwei. where should i start? is this a good idea? if not, what other system should i collect?
what are some good games besides
and sonic?
Thanks,
Ty

I collect Genesis games, games I want to play. There's a lot of rare games, but more common games than rare ones.
Herzog Zwei isn't too rare, it's uncommon but attracts high prices. I am missing a manual for my copy, if anyone has one.... let me know. Chaotix is the same way. I paid $10 for a loose cart.

I will put a list together for you and post it.
Off teh top of my head some of the harder games for me to get were Theme Park, Aero the Acro Bat 2, Chavez 2 and Bible Advenures. Mind you all teh rarity and price are for complete games. Loose games are a lot easier and cheaper to get.
Some of the more expensive games are Shining Force 1 & 2, Phantasy Star 2-4, Herzog Zwei and Pirates Gold. Pirates Gold being the most expensive. Prices may have changed since I was looking for these games. None of these games are rare they just cost some money. With Genesis unless things have changed nothing should be over 50 bucks complete.
Have fun getting all the Genesis games I know I did.
Oh yeah hands down by far teh hardest to get is Miracle Piano CIB or loose.

Also try and track down a complete John Madden '93 Championship Edition. Shouldn't cost too much, being a sports game, but it's one of the toughest games to find...it was a Blockbuster-exclusive rental-only title, not too easy to find CIB, and definitely not easy to find CIB in good shape. But since like 60% of the library is sports games, it makes for an easy, cheap system to collect for. Good luck man

Some other games that are pretty hard to find (and these are all off the top of my head)
Time Killers
Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel
Bible Adventures
Blockbuster World Championships (extremely rare. Like NWC cart rare)
Outback Joey
Aerobiz Supersonic
MUSHA
There are a few others, but I can't think of them right now. The great thing about the Genesis is it is probably one of the easiest of the big consoles to collect all of the games for. The only 2 games that will run you over 100 are the Blockbuster cart and Outback Joey. Some people don't even consider those part of the library, though.

IMO both of those are rarer then the NWC Grey cart. Hell maybe even the gold cart. They just dont cost anywhere near the price.
Blockbuster cart will cast you 1500-200. Outback Joey 400-500 Miracle Piano 100-150.

My bad...reversed the numbers in my head
Still, makes for a fairly easy to assemble collection when even rare titles only run a few bucks CIB

Yes it does
Genesis only has maybe 10 games that are hard to find.

And several that cost more than they're worth...well I shouldn't say that, since the costly ones are fun enough to justify it, but I haven't seen a cheap Mutant League Hockey in, well, ever. The Phantasy Star and Shining Force games also sell for more than their rarity would justify, but they're good games, so it's hard to really overpay.
Oh, and if anyone has the manual for Aerobiz Supersonic, and is willing to part with it...

I looked at my Genesis want list, and almost all of the games I want are less than $15.
So now I just need to put some $$$ on my paypal and hit ebay up.

Streets Of Rage 3 seems to cost a bomb and is hard work to get hold of in the U.K., don't know how hard it is to get hold of in the U.S. though.
