Is that game any better than the first FFXIII?

i haven't broken the seal on it yet, picked it up new for $25. i played the first 2 and i enjoyed the first one way more than the second. i enjoyed the characters (for the most part) and the story, even with it's flaws. the gameplay obviously has problems, but i feel like most of those who hate on it give up early on. about halfway through the game it opens up considerably and dispels the hallway. combat also gets better later on...i hear the "press X to win" argument, which is somewhat true, but most of the combat is really in your choice of character roles, which you can change on the fly, then the game essentially plays itself based on your selections with some manual choices. if you look at it from that perspective it's a lot more fun, you just have to remember the gameplay is in the menus not the battles themselves.

the second game had way better gameplay overall, but the story was so awful that i just couldn't get into it, i took over a year to finally beat it. i've heard the third is better than the first 2, so hopefully that's true, but the 2nd left a sour taste in my mouth so it'll be a while before i jump into the third.

I loved the combat in FFXIII, in fact it's one of the most fun FF combat systems I've played.  I almost finished it, but the story wasn't compelling enough to see it through the end.

Well, I have officially dipped my toe into the world of eBay to really get into my goal of completing the GCN set.

Pokemon channel is my first eBay purchase, and my 2300th unique software title.

I've been stuck at 230ish on the 'Cube for a while now, since shifting my focus almost exclusively to my Genesis collection. I have knocked off some of the harder to find titles for cheap, but there are still a few of the more expensive ones to go (i.e. some of the combo titles, Pokemon Box, Cubivore and Digimon). I did come across the NCAA game, however, which is likely the lowest print run outside of maybe the Pokemon Box.

Just sent a couple of packages out to Disposed Hero that among other things contained the absolute last of any Sega Genesis stuff I had. So it took a while, but I hit the milestone of having zero Genesis stuff. Thanks Disposed for helping me dispose!
