I had a most excellent dream last night about a joke involving chickens but I can't remember it. I think the question was "What do you call a chicken with 22 eggs?"

I'm having to come to terms with my dad's delusional thoughts. It's not just senility as he turns 60 in November. Today we went to Cornwall (250 miles away) to look at a boat building business. They were selling it for £1.5m and dad was showing a genuine interest, even though I'm pretty sure he was bullshitting. If he can somehow afford to buy a £1.5m business, why did he need to borrow money from me to buy petrol to get home?

I asked him this morning if he had money for petrol. "I've got some cash" was the answer. We filled up before we left using "his" cash then on the way back he asked if I had any money on my card to buy petrol with.

When we got home mum asked where we had been. I said dad had told me she knew where we were. Of course, she didn't. She also pointed out dad can't pay me back because the cash wasn't his and she can't pay me because her bank account is already overdrawn.

Which leads me to the trip to New Zealand dad has been planning for December. Apparently he has a business in New Zealand which is where he's apparenty getting his money. He says they're going to pay for him and me to go on the trip for a month. However, I've never seen any evidence at all of a business out there in all the five years he's been talking about one. Mum said he conned (her words) £200 out of her which he said he would get back from this business but she hasn't had anything back yet.

We have someone trying to claim the house from my dad when it's mum who owns it. He seems far too sure we won't lose it.

He didn't tell us anything about his court case until he was locked up. He never tells us anything about his business dealings. The claim on the house leads back to something in 1999. He hasn't told us anything about what he's been doing in those eight years. It's painful to see him like this. He's been lying for nearly half my life.

I'll only briefly mention the affair I've known he's been having since 2002.

Arsehole dads only happen to other people. Unless you carry that idea. Then it comes back at you.

If I talk about myself a lot on here it's because my friends all fucked off a few months after I left school in 2005. Yes, I pretty much have no friends to talk to.

^ I know how you feel about not having friends to talk with. My friends all ditched me after I met my wife right after high school.
