If it's any consolation, my stereo was stolen while my car was at the mechanics'. At least they were "nice" to you and did not shatter your window. The same could not be said for me.  The one thing that I learned from this experience is that you should always detach the faceplate in a shady area.

I just bought a nice bunch of flowers for my ex-boss to show I appreciate the hard work and support she has given over the two years I've been there. The florist was very helpful in choosing something for just over £10. It may not have been an extravagant bunch but it was nice enough to not be pathetic.

I went into work to give it to her. She was shocked and embarrassed but very happy about it. I even let her hug me.  We had a quick discussion about her future. She wants to get some funding to lease the kitchen out for outside work and if she does get it, she will definitely want to employ me and my friend who works with me. Then she said she had been doing references for people's next jobs and my friend's and mine were the two different ones because we're better than all the others. She's always been going on about not having any favourites and treating everyone equally but we knew it was bullshit.
