What a wonderful day at work. I went in expecting to do sandwiches because the head chef and my friend weren't in, like last week. But there was a big pile of mince on the table with a note next to it saying "James - Do something with this. Try to use up the rest of the vegetables on a vegetarian dish. Good Luck"
I decided to make a pie out of the mince and a soup with the leeks and some potatoes. The mince was cooked nicely then I started rolling the pastry I had made earlier but it was a disaster. With 20 minutes to go before lunch time the cake maker walked in to check ingredients for this afternoon. She's good at pastry so I got her to fix it.
In the end all was well and I impressed myself with what I could do (almost) all by myself. I did about 30 meals alone.
Then after lunch I was told the place is going into receivership on Monday, so next week could be my last there. The place was supposed to be closing at the end of September.
Edit: Bloody marvelous. I put dad's laptop hard drive in my external enclosure and I can't get into it. An error comes up when I try. It has some very very important documents on it and the stupid bint didn't make any backups.
Now he's angry at me for some reason.
Edit 2: Woohoo! I fixed it by running checkdisk and now mum wants to give me £50.
I feel kind of immoral for that. I wonder how PC repair shop workers sleep at night doing the exact same thing.
