There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.

Hi, I'm Brendan Smiley

I've been visiting here and using the database for awhile now, and I realized I've never used the forums yet. Figured now is as good a time as any!

I'm a psych major from Brooklyn, New York, and I do Windows, Linux/Unix, and Mac tech work on the side. I also fix game consoles and other hardware... I'll basically give anything you throw at me a shot at repair. I'm self-taught.

I've been gaming since the NES, followed by the Genesis and the Game Boy, but my real collecting took off with my Dreamcast in 2001. That's right, I went from 16-bit to 128-bit. Since then I've gotten a relatively sizable collection (which I still don't have completely in the system yet). I enjoy platformers and RPG's most I suppose, but I basically play everything but sports and MMORPGs (the former due to lack of interest and the latter mainly due to lack of time). My favorite game is Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast/Gamecube, with the Metroid series a close second, followed by Phantasy Star Online, the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Team Fortress 2, and Combat for the 2600 (Best multiplayer game ever!).

I own:

Atari 2600 x3 (Heavy Six, 4 switch, and Jr.)
Atari Jaguar
Mattel Intellevision
Panasonic 3DO FZ-1
NES
SNES x2
N64
Nintendo Gamecube
Nintendo Wii
Game Boy (Gray Brick)
Game Boy Color
Game Boy Advance (Orig)
Game Boy Player
Nintendo DS
SEGA Master System
SEGA Genesis x2 (Models 1 + 2)
SEGA CD
SEGA Saturn x2 (Oval and circle buttons)
SEGA Dreamcast
SEGA Game Gear
SEGA Nomad
PSone
PS2
XBOX
XBOX 360 Elite

And for my PC/Mac gaming needs, I use a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5, Vista SP1, and Slackware 12.1 installed. I install virtual machines of older OSes for older games as needed.

Hi, My name's Austin I'm from Tennessee!

I'm only thirteen years old, but I'm very mature.
