My family & I went to the Nintendo World Store yesterday. We showed up like 5 minutes before they were closing.....I'm so glad I squeezed in before the doors closed! I was able to take a few pictures before they closed shop. They have several gaming stations & very nice display items as well. You can buy limited edition NDS's, SP's etc. If anyone is in or around the the NY area, stop by sometime. I purchased 4 Nintendo character patches(Mario, Luigi, Yoshi & Princess Peach), 1 Legend Of Zelda Patch, 1 Mario Kart collector's pin, 2 Nintendo DS carying cases & a mint refreshment can in the shape of a original NES controller. If anyone is interested, I will post up some pics of the store when I get home.

Cool man!  I'd like to see pictures of it, if you can post them Smiley

Do they have any kind of retro area for their older consoles like NES and SNES?  I know that they have some Nintendo history displays, but do they have any old consoles set up to play on?

Unfortunately no. I wonder if they have a few days out of the year where they will host retro gaming stations. I will have to ask next time.  Smiley

I'm Jealous. If I ever go to NYC this would definitely be on my list of places to visit.

Going to the Nintendo store was quite an accident.  Had the rest of the group not wanted to go to Rockafeller Center, I wouldn't have found the store.

I'm not a video game collector, like most of the people on the forum, so I didn't get that much out of the store.  It was smaller than I would have expected, smaller than the average store in a mall, though I would imagine the premium spot made it financially impossible to put a large store there.

I didn't care for New York City either, gimme Chicago over NYC any day.

Pictures added. I wish I had more time to take better pictures, but I guess these will work for now. Enjoy.

For the limited edition stuff, yes. The Limited Edition NDS are $500.

NDS games are maybe 1 or 2 dollars more than a toys r us. I bought the tin metal mint nes controller for 2.99 & each patch was 2.99 as well. The carrying cases were 12.99

They actually have contests for certain games. You can go here to sign up, if your going to be in the area during the time.

Also, if you look at the Game Cube section of the world store site....you'll see a "NES Miracle Piano" in the display. It wasn't there when I went unfortunately. It was replaced with the famicom & nes/SMB3 setup.

Wow, they changed it significantly since I was there.  Good to know they finally fixed some of the stuff on the second floor. Except for the display cases, the stuff on the sedond floor was still being installed when I was there.  Nice pics.
