Daylight savings time was created so that the farmers could get more work in during the day.  But now with modern technology we don't really need it, it's just a pain in the ass.  Instead of just getting up earlier they set the clocks back an hour then get up earlier.

Spring ahead
Fall behind

We set the clock forward an hour so we lose an hour of sleep.

Correct, we lose an hour of sleep we don't gain an hour.  We set the clock AHEAD one hour this weekend.

Isn't this the first year with the longer duration of daylight savings time? I know it is the first year where all of Indiana adheres to daylight savings time.

Personally, I love daylight savings time, but I am a night owl. I am not a morning person at all. With daylight savings time not only does it theoretically save energy, but it also gives me more daylight to do things outside, which is always fun.

Yeah, I hear plants need daylight to grow, and more importantly we apparently need plants to live. I am currently chowing down on a plant based product apparently called Tostitos. Frito Lay could be extremely crafty though and make their food OUT OF PEOPLE!!!!

I meant to work silly.  Tongue A lot of farm buildings are pretty dark, and require as much natural sunlight as possible to work in.
