Good point everyone. I agree with everyone to a certain extent. As far as I know the 2 King of Kings are the same and I suppose I can double check when I get home.
I do think they should have two seperate entrys for this game. I consider this a major variation, as I collect for variations as well. Now Atari on the other hand, has several and I mean SEVERAL minor variations. Some examples may be ; bold text, no copyright, small text, large text, mis-spelled, no atari corp, copyright of different years and I can go on and on. I can see how minor variations can get ugly, but I don't think the NES has that much to worry about. A few variations I would think deserve a seperate slot are:
King of Kings
Both Zelda's *Which already are taken care of*
Metroid
The Untouchables
....I'm sure there are a few more, but these are major differences to me, as a "collector".
under 3 screw games like wrecking crew, we could add a variation link for the 5 screw version. rather than making a whole new slot.
Either way, I know this site is going in the right direction and we'll figure something out. Everyday this site gets better and better, so please keep the feedback coming. =)
This was more of what I was getting at. Not like the millions of Atari variations or the NES screw variations. Also, added to the list would be the RBI baseball and Pac-man variations, etc.

GH games and the Zelda rereleases have a completely different outfit (box, manual, cartridge/cd). I don't think Scott knew that this game has a different box, and when the only difference is the label, then it will always be added as a label variation in the extra media section. Seeing as how the King of King variants have different boxes as well, I think that we could add them as separate gamepages, but I can't confirm that just yet (manuals are the same for both versions).
I knew it had a different but thats just a box variant. Unless it was part of teh NES Classic Series

The easiest way to get all these variations actually entered in a way that would be workable is if there was a complete list of them.
As for screw variations that could just be mentioned in the notes or Game Trivia section.

I totally agree! Variations like that can be put in the trivia.

I will support whatever we do with variants but I don't think they should be listed under there own page.

Anyone want to get started on this?
If anyone has a decent sized list of NES variations to start us with that would be cool.
The easiest way to get a list done quickly would be to just have a huge alphabetical list. Then have new titles get added in.

Contact Dave2236 over on DP. He once had a website all about NES variants. I think he even had scans. Plus he knows a lot about the screw "variants"
If he doesn't respond to you in a week or so I will give him a call.
