This finally came out on DVD and I watched it today. There's only one way to explain how this movie happened: David Lynch was huffing paint. I don't think anything else could screw a person's brain up to the degree that they would write and direct such a creepy movie. It's about a guy in the future who gets his girlfriend pregnant and she gives birth to a mutant baby that looks like a skinless baby cow. He hallucinates about snake creatures and his head being made into erasers for pencils. Then he kills the baby with a scissors. The End.

P.S. There are tiny chickens that dance after they are cooked and spew slime.

Well i guess we won't ever know what goes on in Lynch's head, but how do you know that he was huffing paint Smiley

This is a science fiction film about an f'd up post-apocolyptic future, but moreso, it is a film that critiques our society and how some people cannot tolorate differences.... maybe it goes to show an undeniable truth in life that no matter how tolerable you are, you are never without error.  In this case, Jack Nance gets his girlfriend pregnet and she ends up not being able to handle the fact she gives birth to a mutant.... where as Jack (that's his name in the movie right, it's been too long?) does his best, but ultimately can't handle his child, not because he doesn't love it, but because the bleak world he lives in doesn't allow him to see the beauty in differences.

I mean it kind of makes sense seeing as the characters all live in a sad world that has been overrun by war and violence... probably by those who couldn't accept diversity.

I like it... a good movie Smiley
and FYI, you can buy the box set off of David Lynch's website... or can snag the DVD around town for $20 bucks or so.

I didn't get that from this movie at all. I don't really think it means anything. I think David Lynch huffed paint. I'm pretty sure that's the only way you can mess yourself up enough to hallucinate this kind of crap. As much as I'd like to come up with some metaphorical explanation for Eraserhead, there are too many things that just don't fit together. I decided that this is just one of those movies that doesn't make sense or mean much of anything. The people who say it does are just trying too hard.

The character's name is Henry. Jack Nance is the actor who played him.

Very odd and creepy movie, not a huge fan.  It made me feel funny after seeing it.

I haven't seen it, but after reading the description, I plan on looking into it. I love movies that are random like this.

It is a very random movie for sure.  It is kinda hard to find though, good luck.
