If you are the education honchos in the State of West Virginia you have DDR installed at every school in the state. That's right DDR, or Dance Dance Revolution for those of you not in the know, is going to be placed in every school in West Virginia by 2009. It is going to cost $500,000 dollars, and Konami is going to foot $75,000 of it. The rest of the funding is going to come from Charitiable Organizations and private donors. So that means for potentially for a small price you could be a part of making gaming a member of the curriculum in West Virginia.

Personally, I find playing DDR a lot more enjoyable than jogging in frigid weather.

Oh wait, this isn't fark? You mean I have to put something useful in here even though I was the first one to respond?  Damn.

Won't work.  Fat kids won't play it because people will laugh ad the jiggling fat.  This might be good for keeping the asians thin.

It'll be hilarious to see the obese have a go at that. I applaud this effort.

It's been this way in every gym class since the begining of time, except this time it's with video games.

Besides, I have seen a few huge dudes at the arcades that are almost as good as those quick little Asian kids.

How long before the machines are damaged/defaced?
I'm guessing half of them will be gone in the first school year.

If WV schools are anything like Detroit public schools (God I pray that they are not) they will last 3 weeks before they become property of the Crips.

I suck so bad at DDR. :-/  There's a pattern to it, but I most definitely don't know it.

Obesity, here I come (...?).

I wouldn't simply because i have absolutely no rythm at all.

I tried 1 time in an arcade with a bunch of friends and jumped off and let a more expeienced person finish off my round so my $.75 wasn;t completely wasted.

Then i playd it 1 time a couple months ago at Dans. His younger sister owns one of the PS2 ones and i sucked massively at it.

I find ddr to be one of the most degrading things a person can be seen doing in public, mostly because I suck at it.

But still, they think fat college kids are going to do it and lose weight?

I think they'd do better to invest in a lotta duct tape and just tape their fat mouths shut so they can't shovel in any more cheeseburgers. It would prolly be a lot cheaper than supplying DDR across campus and besides, who really wants to watch a flab-a-thon flinging sweat all over the place?

At the risk of insulting some people on the board...
People in WV go to college?!!?!?

Anyways, I thought this was just for grade/high schools.

i can't see this lasting very long either. it would be a shame to see all these units go to the dump before they turn a year old. obesity is a big problem in america. then again if it helps our youth, then i agree with tynstar.
