A guy bid $5500 for Master Chief

Media Play is having a silent auction for the 6" Master Chief in the store now that they're closing. I looked through the bids today and a guy bid $5500 and left multiple notes saying that if anyone bid higher to please contact him because he really wants it. Another guy bid "$100 more than the highest bid up to $10,000" but I won't believe that until I see it. The $5500 guy seems serious though. That's insane.

they are doing that at the Media Play near where I work too. Last I asked it was up to about $2000. the things all beat to hell too with many very visible scratches and gouges. be cool to have but not for that kind of change.

i'm not a big halo fan, but the most i'd see myself spending for this would be around 4 to 5 hundred dollars. even that is a little steep to me. then again if you have money coming out of your ears........."why not?" lol
@ Den: i'm sure you have to shake your head in disbelief everytime you pass the statue, knowing its 2K and rising. *ouch!*
