Ok, I know we can see how many total UNIQUE games we own but can we see how many total games we have.  We would be able to include our doubles, demos, and everything.  Or we could just count how many doubles we have.  Or how many demos we have.  Or a combiniation of many different things.  You see what I'm saying?  Let me know because this would benefit me greatly.

As of now demos are being added to the database and are considered unique games.

So that is included in that tally.
You can also view how many games of each genre you own so you can check the number of demos you own that way.

The demos count as regular games because they have their own record in the database.  If you want to keep track of demos but want to keep them separate from your real collection, you can just add a "demo" folder and keep them all in there.

As for tallying the total number of game you have, including duplicates, it is possible but the main reason it hasn't been done yet is because of how many people don't fill out the quantity, manual, and box fields.  Some people enter in numbers, some enter Y or N, and some don't enter anything at all.  With the inconsistency and especially with people not filling the fields out, I don't know how to tally them.  If they don't enter anything for quantity, it's probably safe to assume they only have one, but what about box and manual?

It is probably a bit late to do this now but wouldn't you be able to restrict that field to only acept numerical values that could eliminate the Ys and Ns.

Though this would be something some people might be opposed to now since they already have Y and N or have values for some games and not others etc.

Well, the Y's and N's really aren't a problem because we can count Y's as 1's and N's as 0's.  It's the blank spaces that really mess things up.  Somebody could have 300-some games in their collection, but if they don't enter anything in for quantity, we have no clue how many total games they have.  I can easily rig something up to keep a running total including duplicates, the only thing that worries me is the number of empty box/manual fields.  I don't think we can assume yes or no for those if they haven't entered anything in.

Hmm i understand your point.
I know there are tiems when i left a number blank instead of putting a 0.
I don't know if i still have it that way or not....

The only way to fix this issue now would be to tell everyone to enter in the proper numerical value in order to take advantage of the feature.

Though that seems rather unreasonable for people with larger collections and no values under some or all games.

I have entered a number for everything I have. If I left a field blank that means I dont have it.

I think it would be understood that if a blank space is left for a field that the person does not own that game, manual, or box.  If we went under that assumption couldn't we have it think a blank is a zero?

The making blanks zeros would work, except that many people have the quantity box left blank.  That would mean they have the game in their collection, but don't own it  :-/

IF you don't want games to be counted in your collection but you have (like Demos) you can make a new folder called demos and move them all there.  you will still have the count in total but not in your collection.

Hey good idea!  That helps with the demos and discs from magazines not being added to the total of your collection.  Now if we could only figure out the no cart situation
