Yeah I saw that on GAF I think. Pretty crazy. Maybe I should play the original Animal Crossing to see if the DS one would be worth picking up.

I just averaged out those times and if i did it right it comes out to between 27-28 days played per person.
Comparitively ot that much over the course or 4+ years.
But big numbers mesmerize me
In anycase how does the online aspect of this game work?
How do you connect to other people and such?

I had Animal Crossing, and it was really weird to enjoy performing Mundane tasks, but it was a whole lot of fun. I would most liken the point of the game to living your life, and making a name for yourself. It encourages a whole lot of collecting, and that leads to some very nice houses and very snazzy Museum collections. It also had a bunch of NES games you could unlock, and that made the replay value even higher. Unfortunately though, it has been hinted that Wild World would not have NES games.
As for the online portion of it, it's almost like it is quazi-online. Sure you can use the Nintendo Wifi Connection, but word has it that you can only connect to friends, and only 4 people can live in the same town. That's kind of disappointing, as I was hoping it would be a truly Wild World with everybody being able to interact with everyone.
I'll be picking this game up, but on the list of Big Ticket Holiday DS games this is only #4 on my list. MarioKart, Sonic, and Mario & Luigi are all higher on my list. Snowboard Kids DS would be up there too, as the original kicked so much ass, but it got some poor reviews.

Looks like there is another wifi internet game: Burnout Legends

[NDS] Burnout Legends becomes third WFC release
3:20 pm - Matt Behrens | Link to Individual Story
Electronic Arts has released Burnout Legends for Nintendo DS, and it's the third title (following Mario Kart DS and Tony Hawk's American Sk8land) that connects to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection fo online play.
According to EA, the title was built from the ground up for the Nintendo DS and features nine gameplay modes, including rash, road rage, pursuit and Wi-Fi multiplayer. The title is rated E by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $34.99. Oddly, as of press time, it does not seem to have garnered any reviews at GameRankings.com.

I'm not sure that N-Sider article is correct.

Yeah, I went and looked around after I read it, but couldn't find anything to confirm it. I noticed another article on that site that listed games that were to have wifi, and several of them are out already with no wifi internet. That was the first, and will probably be the last time I visit that site.

I read somewhere that Nintendo Power lists that game as being able to play 2 player with 1 cartridge or up to 5 players locally with 5 cartridges, but didn't mention any internet play.
And the Nintendowifi page doesn't list it.
