Just found out from some guys over at hardcoregaming.org that it's been reprinted. :-/  Still not bad, though.

Nice find, I've heard that this game is pretty rare, is it the rarest PS2 game?

probably not if it has indeed been reprinted. I guess it depends on how many more they made. still wise to grab it now, you may not see it for that price again.

besides $40 is worth it for a great game even if it isn't rare. I paid $40 for Medal of Honor: European Assault which will never be rare and will probably be real cheap one day. It was worth it since I regularly get together with some friends for multi-player nights. It's got an awesome mult-player and we've already got my money's worth out of it.

If I didn't already have Gitaroo Man I would have bought it too for that price.

I haven't played it yet (I've been playing a lot of Mariokart DS single-player to prepare for the hardcore pwnage I will be laying down upon the poor souls I'll be playing online when I get the Wi-Fi USB Connector  laugh), but after reading the instruction booklet, I really like the art style and the game itself looks like a blast.
